Care

Staurogyne stolonifera is a member of the same genus as the popular Staurogyne repens. It is on Wikipedia's list of freshwater aquarium plants, but we could not reach a fuller source, so its native range, size and aquarium performance are not confirmed here. As the name suggests, it spreads by stolons (runners). A sensible starting point is to grow it like S. repens: a foreground or low midground position, medium light, a nutrient-rich substrate and CO2 if available. Water figures are our estimate, not from the sources. Sources: Wikipedia, List of freshwater aquarium plant species. Checked October 2026.

Breeding

Cuttings and separation of rooted runners, as for other Staurogyne.

Compatibility and tank mates

Probably suits tropical community and shrimp tanks like other Staurogyne. Digging fish and goldfish will damage it.
