Care

'Pearl Moss' is a rare liverwort from Borneo, despite its name. It has small, round, translucent deep green leaves in dense cushions, and over time trapped oxygen bubbles form like pearls between the tightly packed leaves. Tropica rates it medium difficulty, with high light and medium CO2 needs, and slow growth; it needs stable conditions, CO2 and a good nutrient balance. It attaches naturally to rock and driftwood, forming compact mats, and suits nano tanks or fine detail in larger layouts alongside Bucephalandra. Water figures are our estimate, not from the sources. Sources: Tropica (tropica.com/en/plants). Checked October 2026.

Breeding

Divide the cushions and attach the pieces to new hardscape; growth is slow.

Compatibility and tank mates

Best in shrimp and nano tanks with small, peaceful fish.
