Care

Coelogorgia palmosa is a soft coral that grows as a tall, branching 'palm tree' or bottlebrush shape, with polyps along the branches. It is usually cream, tan or brown. It is found on East African and western Indian Ocean reefs. Neither LiveAquaria nor Top Shelf Aquatics lists this species; the figures are general guidance for the genus, not from a source. Placement: middle of the rockwork, in moderate light and medium flow, with space for it to grow tall. Water: typical reef parameters (about 22–26 °C, pH 8.1–8.4, dKH 8–12). Soft corals are not CITES-listed. Sources: general reef-keeping guidance only; neither LiveAquaria nor Top Shelf Aquatics lists it. Checked October 2026.

Diet

Photosynthetic; fine filter-feeder foods may help.

Breeding

Cut off a branch and attach it to rubble with a rubber band or mesh until it attaches.

Compatibility and tank mates

Generally peaceful; keep it out of reach of aggressive LPS.
