Care
'Monte Carlo' is a cultivar of Micranthemum tweediei from Argentina. It forms a carpet of small, round, fresh light-green leaves on creeping stems, staying about 3–5 cm high. Tropica rates it medium difficulty, with medium light and CO2 needs, and says it grows fast. It tolerates light shade but needs good light to grow compact, and CO2 helps it develop properly. Plant small portions across the front of the tank. Water figures are our estimate, not from the sources. Sources: Tropica (tropica.com/en/plants). Checked October 2026.
Breeding
Divide the mat into small pieces and replant; it spreads by creeping stems that root at the nodes.
Compatibility and tank mates
Ideal for aquascapes with small fish and shrimp. Digging fish lift the carpet.

Buyers are told to pay by PayPal Goods & Services, never PayPal Friends and Family, gift cards or crypto.

Banned and invasive species (for example those on the GB invasive species lists) cannot be listed, and sellers must meet the site’s animal welfare standards.
Members must be 16 or over to buy (16 and 17-year-olds with a parent or guardian’s agreement); sellers must be 18 or over.
Business sellers show their address, company details and pet-selling licence to buyers. Seller ratings run from 0 to 100: +1 for each positive feedback, −1 for each negative.
