Care
A tiny goby (the article gives about 2 cm) that lives in groups among the branches of small-polyped stony corals in sheltered lagoons, at 3–30 m. A small reef with branching corals or plenty of perches suits it, and porous rock and macroalgae give it places to forage. Tank size here is an estimate for a small group. The sources give no water figures, so the temperature, pH and salinity shown are general marine aquarium guidance, not species-specific: 24–27 °C, pH 8.1–8.4, specific gravity 1.023–1.026, with stable, well-filtered water. The article describes it as hardy once settled. It is easily outcompeted at feeding time, so keep it with other small, calm fish. Listed by the IUCN as Least Concern. Diet
Feeds on tiny invertebrates in the wild and sometimes picks parasites and dead tissue off larger fish. In the aquarium it takes copepods, amphipods and other small live foods, plus frozen mysis and small pellets. Feed small amounts several times a day; a mature tank with rock and macroalgae to graze helps.
Breeding
No captive breeding details are given in the sources.
Compatibility and tank mates
Reef safe. Very small, so only keep with peaceful nano-sized fish; any fish large enough to swallow it is a risk. Suits SPS reef tanks.
