Care

Asian watergrass is the only species in its genus, a grass from South and South-East Asia, from Pakistan and India through southern China to Malaysia. Wikipedia gives only its names and range. In the hobby it is known as a floating grass whose stems spread across the surface with small leaves and feathery roots hanging below. Treat it as a floating plant for open or roomy tanks with gentle surface flow. Water figures are not given by the sources; its tropical range suggests normal tropical temperatures. Breeding

Not described by our sources; floating stems can be broken into pieces that grow on.

Compatibility and tank mates

Its roots give cover to fry and surface fish such as gouramis. Large plant-eating fish may eat it.
